Why is everything wrapped in plastic before a house gets painted?
Because overspray travels. Even on a calm morning, a fine mist of paint drifts further than most people expect, and it sticks to leaves, glass and anything parked nearby.
Look at the during photo. The shrubs along the front are covered in plastic sheeting, the windows are papered and taped, and the walk under the arch is covered where the ladder stands. That is the part of an exterior job nobody photographs for a brochure, but it decides how clean the house looks when the plastic comes off. Plants cannot stay wrapped all day in Florida heat, so the covering goes on right before a side gets painted and comes off once that side is done.

Should the garage door and front door be a different color from the house?
Often, yes. A darker door is one of the cheapest ways to give a stucco house some contrast.
On this Ormond Beach home the body is a soft peach, and on its own that color can look flat from the street. Painting the garage door and the front door navy gives the eye somewhere to land. The white trim then sits between the two and keeps the whole thing from feeling heavy. It is a simple three color scheme, and it works on a lot of the single story stucco homes we see around Volusia County.
One practical note. A dark color on a south or west facing garage door takes a lot of sun, and it will show fading sooner than a pale one. That does not rule it out. What should you expect on the last day of an exterior repaint?

The walkthrough is where you point at anything that looks off, a missed spot on a fascia board or a drip on a sill, and it gets touched up while the crew and the paint are still there. After that the masking comes down, the plastic comes off the plants, and the site is cleaned up. Leftover paint from your colors is labeled and left with you, so small touch ups later are easy.
Keep the color names somewhere safe as well. If a storm damages a section of stucco in a few years, matching the exact color is far simpler when you know what it was.
