What standard are we aiming for?
We build and test this site against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.1, at level AA. That is the benchmark most United States guidance points to, and it is the one we hold our own work to. We are not claiming a perfect score. We are telling you what we measure against so you can hold us to it.
Accessibility is not a box we ticked once. Every time we add a page or change a layout, it gets checked again.
What have we actually done?
Every page opens with a skip link so keyboard users can jump straight past the navigation to the content. Headings run in order, from one H1 down through the sections, so a screen reader can move through a page by structure instead of guessing. Images carry alt text that says what is in the photo. Forms have real labels tied to their fields, not placeholder text pretending to be one.
Text and background colors are checked for contrast, and the floating call button in the corner of your screen is sized for a fingertip rather than a mouse pointer. The site works without a mouse. Tab through it and you will see where you are.
What still needs work?
A few things. Our project photos came from job sites over several years, and some of the older ones have thinner alt text than we would write today. The embedded Google map and the spam protection on our contact form are supplied by Google, and we do not control how those behave with assistive technology.
If any of that stops you doing what you came here to do, the next section matters more than this one.
